Linear axes in a handle-fitting machine

In an automated machine for fitting handles to and stacking plastic buckets, several linear axes supplied by us are used in a highly dynamic X-Y axis system. The aim of the application is to efficiently fit handles to different bucket sizes and then stack them securely.

The ready-to-install solution combines various linear axes that are optimally tailored to the respective motion requirements. The HT-B linear tables used, with their highly dynamic toothed belt drive, enable particularly fast traverse movements over long distances. The HD double axis system ensures absolutely parallel and stable gantry movements, with its two synchronised belt axes guaranteeing precise guidance over the entire stroke. In addition, HM-S modular axes with spindle drives handle the precise and repeatable movement of even larger loads. The compact HC-B axis with a high-speed toothed belt drive also enables dynamic positioning in confined spaces. All axes are protected by robust stainless steel covers and some are equipped with precise CG series linear guideways, which ensure smooth and precise movement even at high speeds.

The combination of durable drive and guide technology results in a low-wear, long-lasting automation solution. It reduces downtime, ensures consistently high process quality and is ideally suited to bendable production environments with frequently changing batch sizes.

Requirements:

  • Very short cycle times with high dynamic response
  • High repeatability and positioning accuracy
  • Space-saving, compact design
  • Modular, maintenance- and service-friendly machine concept
